The
Small Business Administration
was created by Congress in 1953 to foster the growth of
small businesses in the United States. It sponsors a
variety of programs that help businesses gain management
skills, get loans and bonds, and obtain government
contracts. The agency also functions as an advocate for
small business, representing small business concerns to
Congress and federal agencies.
